Domine Joseph Roty

Legend, iconoclast, idiosyncratic: just a few terms used to describe this singular producer of some of the most coveted wines in Burgundy. The style of Domaine Joseph Roty is one of boldness and power but never heavy handedness. This Domaine is reputed to own some of the oldest vines in Burgundy, some dating to the mid 1880’s (Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru). The tremendous age of the vines, along with extended cold soak maceration and whole cluster fermentation is the source of this concentration and power. These wines are long and structured but fresh and balanced. Without a doubt one of the most collectible wines in Burgundy.
