Louis Roederer

Louis Roederer

Located in Reims, Maison Louis Roederer is one of the last great independent and family-run Champagne houses in France, founded in 1776. The cuvées of the House of Louis Roederer are the fruit of patient work with fundamental ingredients, the collaboration of experts, a quest for the perfect balance, and hardy and generous grapes cultivated in the Champagne soil. This culminates in producing a wine with a summery character and crystalline elegance. Louis Roederer is most famous for their “tête du cuvée” Cristal, which was designated as the official Champagne of the Imperial Court of Russia by Tsar Nicolas II. Produced uniquely during the best years, when the Chardonnay (around 40%) and Pinot noir (around 60%) grapes have attained perfect maturity, Cristal is aged for 6 years in Louis Roederer’s cellars and left for a further 8 months after dégorgement.
