Napa Valley: no other wine region in North America can compare to its significance, name recognition and prestige. Indeed, while only 5 miles wide and 30 miles long, this tiny stretch of land accounts for 20% of the value of wine produced in the entire state. Brands like Screaming Eagle and Harlan (to name just a few) evoke images of opulence and conspicuous consumption along with glittering, modern facilities and “rock star” wine makers. While some of the best Chardonnay in the world can be found here, in Napa, Cabernet Sauvignon is King.
